Our Story

Who is Volition Skate Co.?

 Volition Skate Co. is a women-owned roller skate store based in southeast Iowa - owned and operated by Jen Kranz and Kate Vigmostad. We sell roller skates online and in person from our new roller skate shop in Fairfield, IA.  


Why Roller Skates?

 Volition Skate Co. was founded by Jen Kranz and Kate Vigmostad in 2020 - at the height of the global pandemic. We started Volition Skate Co. because we want to share the JOY and the freedom roller skating brings to our lives with as many people as possible. We chose the name Volition, because we want to remind ourselves and inspire others to call upon themselves to create the life and the world they want to live in.

More than just selling roller skates, we are building a supportive online and in-person community that provides new skaters the resources they need to thrive in their new-found hobby.

NEW RETAIL STORE!
We are in the process of building a green retail roller skate shop - the first roller skate shop in our state!
ONLINE COMMUNITY
As we expand our reach online, we want to be the place for roller skaters to turn to for support, guidance, and tips.
TUTORIALS
We have received such great feedback about the tutorials we've created online - we will continue creating tutorials to add to our YouTube channel and other social media platforms.
PROTECTIVE GEAR R&D
We have begun research and development on a line of protective gear designed specifically for women. We hope to have a protoype finished toward the end of 2021.
EXPANDING OUR LINE
As we move into 2021, one of our main goals is to expand our offerings and product line. Look out for new popular skates for sale in our store this year!
